Village Style Pongal Celebrations in Chennai

Pongal is celebrated in the month of Thai 1st day as per Tamil calendar (in January) is a appreciation to Sun god for a successful harvest (kind of thanks giving day). Part of it is bioling the first harvested rice consecrated to the sun god.
