Let’s see how to cook Karunai/Senai kilangu varuval/fry?
Ingredients:
Yam/Senai Kilangu sliced, Dry red chilli powder,tamrind juice, salt, Vegetable oil
Methods:
1) Remove the hard-outer layer of yam and finely chop in to flat size as shown and keep it aside
2) Make a paste of dry red chilli powder,with tamarind juice and salt per taste
3) Half cook the senai kilangu with some salt first
4) Apply the paste to the kilangu
5) Place a fry pan on medium flame and add oil to it
6) Once oil is hot, carefully put the yam in batches to ensure it is fried properly
7) Turn the yam to the other side so it can cook evenly on both sides
8) Once both sides turn golden brown remove it carefully from the oil and place it on an absorbent paper to remove excess oil
9) Serve it hot as a side dish for rice or you may have it as a snack
