Pudalangai / Podalangai / Snake Gourd puttu is a Superb dish .If you

aromatic and flavorful. Snake guard is high in fiber it relieves
constipation. Snake guard helps stimulates the production of body
fluids, relieving dryness. It creates cooling effect in the body. Snake
guard is considered useful in treating type 2 diabetes.

Recipe :
Ingredients:
Snake Gourd / புடலங்காய்
Bengal gram/ கடலை பருப்பு
Dry red chilli / காஞ்ச மிளகாய்
Fennel seeds / சோம்பு
Sunflower oil / சூரியகாந்தி எண்ணை
Onions / வெங்காயம்
Garlic / பூண்டு
Salt/உப்பு
Mustards/ கடுகு
Methods :
1) Take fennel seeds and gram dal in a blender and powder them with dry red chilli
2) Wash and scrape the skin of the bottle guard.
3) Remove the seeds and cut them into small pieces, soak them for 30mins in water with salt
4) Take a pan,add oil and splutter with mustard and curry leaves (optional)
5) Now add chopped onion, garlic and saute till it gives out moisture.sprinkle some salt.
6) When the onion becomes translucent,add the above blended mixture of dhall & chilli
7) Drain the water and add the chopped bottle guard to till saute well till its well cooked
8) You can close the lid so that it can be cooked quickly
9) Now saute till the bottle guard is cooked well
10) Now puttu is ready.Serve with Kara Kulambu & Rice.
