Vanjaram fish fry or the king fish fry is a delicious and tasty fish fry recipe. The king fish is known as Vanjaram in Tamil. It is a very popular fish in Tamil Nadu or for that matter, anywhere that there is fish available in the world.
It must be called king fish for a reason. There is nothing like it in taste. You will be forgiven to think that sometimes it tastes like chicken. The taste of this vanjaram is just unbeatable.
The vanjaram fish comes in two sizes. One is small fish, about a foot long and the others are really big. We buy both sizes, depending upon what we are going to cook.
Having been born and brought up in Chennai which is a coastal city in south Indian state of Tamil nadu, we were pretty much accustomed to the fresh sea water fishes. And this was the top most favorite fish for us or rather the only fish that we used eat during childhood.
In our recipe of the vanjaram fish fry we just apply some basic spices to the king fish and fry them to perfection
We prefer tava frying the
fish rather than deep frying them which will consume only lesser oil and crispier
The fry of vanjaram fish will entirely depend upon your preference. In our
home, mom used to fry it till just when the fish would easily fall off and you
can easily cut it through with a spoon. That’s how we prefer my Vanjaram

Its will be the best healthiest food, even though it's low in total fat, kingfish is a rich source of healthy omega-3 fatty acids. It’s also packed with protein, vitamin B-12 and selenium. But be aware that it has high levels of mercury.

Ingredients:
King Fish slice
Chili Powder
Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
Lemon juice 2tbsp
Salt
oil
Method
Clean and wash fish pieces.drain
water
In a bowl add chili powder ,turmeric
powder, and salt.mix well and make a smooth paste add water if required.
Marinate fish with this paste and
set aside for one hour.
Heat oil in a pan or tawa,shallow
fry the fish pieces. Turning over to cook both sides.
Serve hot with rice.
